We have recorded 17 species of butterfly in and around the margins of Meudon Woods. The best places to look out for butterflies are in sunny glades where wildflowers are in bloom. Particularly good spots are the top path when first the blackthorn and then the brambles are in flower; the footpath through Meudon Farm where it follows the margin of the woods; the open ride of the re-opened bottom footpath; and the sunny glades where the footpath enters from Carlidnack Lane.
